CTE Student Showcase - Medical Terminology
“My favorite thing we have done in Med Term this year is the career case, because it allowed me to have a larger look at my potential future career. What I love about Med Term is doing labs that allow us to have a look into what some medical careers deal with. For example, we have been looking at bacteria around the school which gives us a look into the career of Bacteriologists and Microbiologists. I also love Med Term because it will help me in the future. For example, knowing medical terminology will help me communicate more proficiently and clearly, as it is used in the medical field daily. I also love that it teaches me the criteria I need to understand in order to be successful in my future career.” ~ Kaislee Moore

CTE Student Showcase - Anatomy & Physiology
“My favorite thing that I have done in Anatomy is probably histology. It was one of the first things we learned, but it's incredibly important to be able to understand the rest of the body systems. I also think it's interesting how the different shapes of cells in tissue are used for different functions and places in the body! The thing I love most about Anatomy is learning about the different diseases and disorders of every body system, and how to spot and treat those issues. I plan to study medicine and become an internal medicine physician, so learning anatomy and physiology of the body is one of the most important core parts to know before studying medicine.” ~ Sarah Lewis

“We just did a lymphatic system project, and I liked that It was a new style for the class. I like how we are able to work at our own pace. This class has given me a better idea on the type of work I could do in college.” ~ Cheyenne Faught

CTE Student Showcase - Health Science

“I absolutely loved the Teddy Bear Clinic at the Elementary School. Just seeing the kids still have a love for a teddy bear, and really play into the educational and fun aspect of it really made my heart glow. It also taught me how to engage with children because I hopefully want to work in Pediatrics! It was also pajama day which really added to the fun. What makes me love Health Science class is Ms.Garrett. She truly is the best and is so understanding. With our modules and study time for our program, she has really made it a very good, self paced class; which has helped in tremendous ways to not feel stressed or overwhelmed and has helped me not burn out! Health Science classes will help me in the future when applying to Nursing/PA school. Everything helps when you are applying for competitive programs, especially college programs. Graduating with a CCMA certificate will help me shine and show that I do have experience with clinical procedures and I am committed to my career. I also have it as a backup in case nursing is not for me, so I can still make a living!” ~ Nadaly Petty

“My favorite thing I did in Health science this year was the fair we did at the Junior High. It was fun to learn about and make a presentation over the career I want to do in the future. It was very interesting, and it was a great learning experience. I love that I get to have a community of people that want to be in the same field as me. The people I am sitting next to in the classroom today could be my coworkers tomorrow. Ms. Garrett is so amazing as well. She is very kind, and she is very helpful when I have questions. My Health Science class is very helpful for my future in the healthcare field. I get to learn about things like CPR and first aid, and I get to acquire the certifications needed for those medical emergencies. I am so glad I can earn these certifications now for a job application instead of later when it's required.” ~ Emma Bedwell

CTE Student Showcase - AV

“My favorite thing that we have done this year would be all of the videos I have created for Rocket Reach and being able to put my skills to use in creating inspirational videos for the school. What I love most about AV is the freedom we get to create with our own image in mind and in our own style. My AV classes will help me in the future if I go to film school or want a job in graphic design.” ~ Caleb Strawser

“Even though it's been difficult planning, arranging, and editing the Expo videos I'd say it is my favorite "project" of the year. It has taught me all the work it takes to communicate with others, and how to work at a quicker pace. I love the freedom I have to come up with ideas and edit things in my own way. It helped me realize how much I enjoy creating videos. I also enjoy how we work as a team. I haven't solidified my future career, but if I were to go into video editing, filming, or broadcasting, I wouldn't feel completely lost.” ~ Cheyenne Faught

“My favorite thing this year in construction would be the ability to work on my projects. I love the ability to get work done at school and do something I enjoy. If you actually put effort in this class it would help you in many aspects of life.” ~ Emerson Remington

“My favorite thing that we have done in construction this year was my Thanksgiving turkey. What I love most about my class is the fun projects that we do like the Christmas tree that I made. I can see myself going into carpentry when I get older and having the core skills will be important.” ~ Caleb Green
