Coach Moreland teaches Professional Communications to 8th graders at the Junior High, helping them earn high school credit while exploring career paths. His favorite CTE moment this year: watching students discover future careers and set short‑term goals to reach their dreams. He’s especially proud of the School Improvement Marketing Project — a standout student-led effort. Thank you, Coach Moreland, for inspiring ambition and real-world skills! 🌟📣

“My favorite thing that we have done this year would be all of the videos I have created for Rocket Reach and being able to put my skills to use in creating inspirational videos for the school. What I love most about AV is the freedom we get to create with our own image in mind and in our own style. My AV classes will help me in the future if I go to film school or want a job in graphic design.” ~ Caleb Strawser
“Even though it's been difficult planning, arranging, and editing the Expo videos I'd say it is my favorite "project" of the year. It has taught me all the work it takes to communicate with others, and how to work at a quicker pace. I love the freedom I have to come up with ideas and edit things in my own way. It helped me realize how much I enjoy creating videos. I also enjoy how we work as a team. I haven't solidified my future career, but if I were to go into video editing, filming, or broadcasting, I wouldn't feel completely lost.” ~ Cheyenne Faught

Mr. Jenkins leads our Digital Communications program—teaching Intro to AV, Principles of AV, AV Productions 1 & 2, and Practicum in AV—preparing students for TV broadcasts, advertising, video production, and motion pictures. His students can earn Adobe Certified Professional credentials in Digital Video using Adobe Premiere Pro, and he sponsors Rocket Vision, the team that provides video and sound for RISD events.
His favorite CTE moments this year: watching students showcase skills across multiple areas and supporting them as they livestream events beyond the district. He also loves prepping the AV production for graduation each year—an essential role for the celebration. Thank you, Mr. Jenkins, for amplifying student voice and creativity! 📹👏

“My favorite thing this year in construction would be the ability to work on my projects. I love the ability to get work done at school and do something I enjoy. If you actually put effort in this class it would help you in many aspects of life.” ~ Emerson Remington
“My favorite thing that we have done in construction this year was my Thanksgiving turkey. What I love most about my class is the fun projects that we do like the Christmas tree that I made. I can see myself going into carpentry when I get older and having the core skills will be important.” ~ Caleb Green

Coach Kent teaches Principles of Construction to both 8th graders and high schoolers, expertly preparing students for our upper-level Carpentry courses. His favorite CTE moment this year was watching students sell their creations at the Makers’ Market, and he especially loves guiding them through pen-making projects. Our Carpentry program is one of our largest—and it wouldn’t be the same without Coach Kent. Thank you for building skills and confidence every day! 🛠️👏

“One of my favorite highlights was building the epoxy river table. Students designed the tabletop layout, mixed and poured the resin "river," and learned to clamp and level the slab during curing. The project taught us to be careful measuring, working with mixed materials (wood + resin), and problem-solving when voids or bubbles appeared. I love the chill, welcoming environment we’ve built — it feels like a mini getaway on campus. When students step into the shop, the pace slows, tools hum instead of rush, and everyone gets a chance to focus with fewer distractions. That calm atmosphere encourages creativity and steady work: students try new techniques, take pride in careful craftsmanship, and support each other without pressure. Mr. Kieso makes a huge difference — he's always available to guide, demonstrate, and answer questions so students learn faster and safer. He breaks down tricky skills (like proper hose routing, fitting, and maintenance), shows step‑by‑step techniques, and gives hands‑on corrections during practice.” ~ Daniel Lang
“My favorite thing we have done in Construction this year is the Makers’ Market. I love that I get the opportunity to make things for myself, or gifts that someone can use everyday. Construction gives me the ability to know how to use tools and knowledge on fixing things around the house, and experience for jobs in the construction trade.” ~ Trey Bailey
Mr. Kieso teaches Principles of Construction, Construction Tech 1, and Construction Tech 2—and has been a fantastic addition to Robinson’s Carpentry program. His favorite CTE moment this year was our Makers’ Market, and his proudest project is Joey Matus’ SkillsUSA table. Under his guidance, students have built practical projects for other programs, from chicken pens for the barn to a sturdy AV table for the gym.
Big news: next year our Carpentry program expands to include Entrepreneurship and Mill & Cabinetmaking Technology plus new certification and practicum opportunities. Thank you, Mr. Kieso, for inspiring hands-on learning and real-world skills! 🛠️✨
