Congrats to Shelly Chudej and Robinson Elementary on receiving a REF mini grant for Window Wednesdays and Beyond. Window Wednesdays and Beyond will be instrumental in allowing parents to take a virtual peek into their child's classroom. By utilizing our mobile broadcast setup, we will be able to produce live/recorded video of real-time student learning. Teachers will go live under the campus Twitter account to broadcast a portion of a lesson of the day so the parents and community members have a window into the classroom to see the learning experiences that involve our students.
Congrats to Kara Ficke, fine arts teacher at Robinson Elementary on her grant from REF - I've Got This Feelin' Inside My Bones! This grant will provide items that create opportunities for some "rock star" music lessons. Some items such as stick horses, plastic yard art candy canes, large scarves, a class parachute, flashlights, and plastic plates will be provided. These supplies will provide the tools necessary to help direct students so that their movements correspond with music. This utilizes the entire brain and leads to further brain development!
Willie Thomas and James Hughes will help RISD Drop the Snowball with this grant awarded by REF!
Snowball Microphones will be available for checkout through the media centers to be used & promote student voice & teacher/student created videos.
Congratulations to Diana Newton, Robinson Primary 1st grade teacher on the grant she received from REF! Take a Look! It's a Reading Nook! provides comfortable places for students to read which will encourage students to read more and fall in love with reading! This grant will provide several reading nooks in a classroom, as well as pillows and bean bag chairs that they can move around and use during reading times. We can also use them when we are working on our Chromebooks and iPads.
