Congrats Kati Dietzman and RJH and RHS for receiving the REF grant Energizing Enrichment! This grant will provide enrichment supplies needed for Rocket Launch.
Mrs. Eide's class is enjoying the Learning rug provided by her grant, Take Learning to the Mat! The grant was awarded in November, and it's already impacting instruction in the classroom. Thank you for your contributions that make funding innovative ideas in RISD possible.

Bean Bags for Learning was awarded by REF to Jamie Guerra at RJH! Various bean bag seating will provide more opportunities for comfortable reading environments within the classroom!
Thank you for your contributions and jeans week teacher gift purchases. Keep those contributions coming. You can call the RISD administration building for jeans week purchases, or make a general contribution online at risdweb.org/ref.

RJH students will have a game space in the cafeteria that challenges the mind while enjoying a break from everyday lessons all while learning how to interact socially and build relationships. Students will want to put down their phone to go and play a game with another group of students or staff and/or face the challenge in cup stacking. Students can thank Patti Goforth, RJH assistant principal and REF for the grant Put that Phone Down!
We Can't Wear Pajamas Every Day, but…is the grant that RJH teacher Jennifer Drummond wrote so that students in her classroom will have
flexible seating to use for reading and writing in the classroom. Bean Bag chairs in assorted shapes and sizes will be purchased.
Do you know that math and cooking go together? Amber Clemons at Robinson Junior High is excited to receive a grant from REF for What's Cookin'?
What's Cookin'? will incorporate hands-on cooking activities in the math classroom. We often use recipes and cooking-related measurements in math examples and word problems. The items purchased through the What's Cookin'? grant would allow us to bring those examples to life in the classroom.
The media center at Robinson Junior High will receive MakerSpace kits that students will use to build functioning technological items, preparing them for the future. It will give them hands-on experience with science, technology, and engineering- three fundamental aspects of the acronym STEAM. Congrats to Meagan Noranbrock on receiving the REF grant for You Can't Spell STEAM Without STE!
Congrats to Mrs. Morgan at Robinson Intermediate who was awarded a grant for Boogie Boards - Not Your Average Whiteboard! This product is used to encourage and motivate students to participate in teacher-directed and student-led activities using a new technology-driven whiteboard. The "Blackboard Note Boogie Board" is an electronic device that works as a new age whiteboard.
Audrey Kelley at Robinson Intermediate is excited to receive a grant from REF! Rocket Fuel: Launch into Vocational Learning will provide vocational learning for the students in her classroom. Just as one experiences in real life working in a coffee shop, students will undergo job training, put on a uniform, read coffee orders, make coffee orders, deliver the order, take money, provide change, and complete their shift.
That thermometer is still rising! Thank you for your contributions! Our end of year campaign goal for Good Vibes and High Fives is $30,000. You can go to risdweb.org/ref and give online.
