ACE Logo

The Texas Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) program is one of the largest statewide afterschool programs in the country, serving over 180,000 students at nearly 1000 sites. The ACE program is administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and is funded through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers initiative of the U.S. Department of Education.

This grant supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children and helps students meet state and local academic standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math.  Our program will offer students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs.  It will also offer literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.

Key Elements of Texas ACE:

  • Texas ACE builds the bridge between learning and life.

  • When school’s out, Texas ACE is ready to embrace every child and fill their hours with a focus on what matters most: academic support, caring relationships, and positive life experiences.

  • ACE is a nationwide program with a proven track record for boosting attendance and academic achievement.

  • Curriculum connections and relationships from the school day extend into the Texas ACE space, providing continuity and needs-based support.

  • Texas ACE centers around learning and encompasses so much more. Meaningful, hands-on activities bring students together to play and learn, become strong leaders, and develop skills that empower them to succeed in school and in life.

  • Texas ACE builds and strengthens student relationships with educators, mentors, and peers.

  • Texas ACE is a safe, secure environment.

All services are offered free of charge to any participating Robinson ISD student in grades K-12. Site coordinators will manage activities Monday-Friday from school release until approximately 6 p.m. at each campus.

Activities include:

  • Daily snack

  • Homework help, tutoring, and study strategies

  • Enrichment activities with trained staff
